the village pantry

This series depicts those items that can be found in a pantry or kitchen, a place not only where we cook and eat, but where we communicate and connect. In a small town called Vela Luka on the Croatian island Korćula, I had the privilege of photographing various kitchen utensils and wine vats, or de mégane, some of which belonged to the local families for over 100 years. These items are significant because they define the features and characteristics of a culture and community that has existed in a particular place at a particular point in time.
