The Spaces In Between
ARTIST STATEMENT
This work examines the silence that arises when we are among others. It serves as a psychological inquiry into the spaces in between, mapping the unscripted ways we inhabit public life while maintaining our private selves. I am interested in how people carry their solitude into the light: how they lean into corners, how they shrink away from a crowd, and how they claim a small piece of the world for themselves, if only for a fleeting moment.
These photographs are not merely focused on spaces but also on the individuals within them. It is a narrative of elevation, treating the solitary with the same monumental dignity afforded to all things, finding its enduring significance in a single, suspended breath. By using high-contrast black-and-white imagery, I strip away the noise to reveal the emotional weight of stillness, giving the quietest moments space to be heard.
